MCC-2 LIN: Phytron completes the MCC range
Alongside the freely programmable single and dual axis stepper motor controllers MCC-1 and MCC-2, Phytron has now completed the MCC range by adding the MCC-2LIN variant. This is fitted with linear power stages, rather than the choppered version offered by its two siblings. Phase currents of up to 1.7 APEAK allow maximum positioning characteristics and achieving the lowest possible interference from radiated emissions. Because of the highly precise current setting of the linear power stage technology, the maximum step precision of 1/256th of a step is executed exactly at the stepper motor. Using the possibility of connecting encoders, it is also possible to implement a closed loop circuit achieve the finest positioning accuracy.
The MCC-2LIN also meets stringent safety requirements because of the enable input in the hardware that is designed to be redundant. With this, the stepper motors can be disconnected. Inputs of this type are used in applications when, for example, it has to be ensured during measurement that the motors are not running.
The MCC-2LIN is therefore ideal for use as a highly precise position controller in environments sensitive to electrical disturbance.
The compact device also contains 8 digital inputs and 8 digital, electrically isolated outputs, 2 analog inputs (e.g. for joystick operation, measurement signals, ...) 2 limit switches per axis, plus the enable and encoding inputs already mentioned.
An RS485, RS232 or USB interface module, as the customer requires, is integrated for communication with higher level controllers, e.g. a PC or PLC. In bus operation, up to 16 controllers in the MCC range with up to 32 axes can be connected to a PC or controller.
The MCC-2 LIN is programmed from the PC using the tried and tested MiniLog commands. MiniLog is an expansion of DIN 66025. MiniLog and DIN-compatible commands can be combined at any time so that a program of sequences can be generated with complete ease. MiniLog-Comm®, the user-friendly Windows® program for configuration and programming, is included in the scope of delivery.
A remote/local switch allows the program sequences previously saved to be executed in stand-alone operation, independently of the higher level control. If required, an operating terminal can be connected.
